To get from Elmira Corning Airport, to Hammondsport, NY, you'll follow a scenic route primarily along Keuka Lake, part of New York's beautiful Finger Lakes region. Here's a step-by-step guide for the drive:

1. Start at Elmira Corning Airport (ELM): Located at 276 Sing Sing Road, Horseheads, NY 14845.

2. Head towards I-86 W: Once you exit the airport, follow the signs to get onto I-86 W towards Bath/Hammondsport.

3. Follow I-86 W to NY-54 N in Bath: Stay on I-86 W for about 20 minutes. Look out for signs for NY-54/NY-415 to Bath/Hammondsport.

4. Take Exit 38 from I-86 W: This exit will lead you towards Bath and Hammondsport via NY-54.

5. Follow NY-54 N to Hammondsport: After exiting, follow NY-54 N directly into Hammondsport. The drive along NY-54 N is scenic and takes you through the beautiful countryside and vineyards of the Finger Lakes region.

6. Arrive in Hammondsport, NY: Hammondsport is a small village located at the southern tip of Keuka Lake, known for its wineries and the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum.

We suggest that you continue to the Bath/Hammondsport exit against GPS recommendations. The GPS tends to route you to get off at Savona because it is 5 minutes faster, but you are routed through a lot of backroads many of them dirt and stone. In our experience we have found that it is actually a longer way to go, and the road quality isnt great.
