How to Use the Record Player

Enjoy a blast from the past with our Victrola record player in the Loft lounge upstairs. Here’s a simple guide on how to use it:

Step 1: Locate the Record Player

• Head to the Loft lounge upstairs where you’ll find the Victrola record player set up and ready for use.

Step 2: Choose Your Record

• The records are stored in the cabinet directly beneath the record player. Open the top drawer to browse through our collection of vinyl records. Select one that suits your mood.

Step 3: Prepare the Record Player

• Lift the tonearm gently off its rest.

• Place your chosen record on the turntable.

• If necessary, switch the speed selector to match your record type (usually 33 or 45 RPM).

Step 4: Play the Record

• Gently position the needle at the beginning of the record.

• Carefully lower the tonearm onto the record. If your player has an automatic start function, you can use this to lower the needle.

• Adjust the volume to your liking using the volume knob.

Step 5: Enjoy the Music

• Sit back, relax, and enjoy the music. The rich, warm sound of vinyl is a wonderful way to enhance your stay.

Step 6: When Finished

• Once the record finishes, carefully lift the tonearm and return it to its rest.

• Turn off the record player.

• Remove the record from the turntable, place it back in its sleeve, and return it to the drawer.

Step 7: Care for the Equipment

• Handle the records and the player with care to ensure they remain in good condition for other guests to enjoy.
