The Sauna
Prior to using the sauna please review the safety and health guidelines below.
How to Use the Sauna
To operate the Outdoor Spa Lights use the switch next to the door closest to the Kitchen leading outside to the deck by the stairs that lead to the Sauna. This will turn on the Bistro String Lights, Spa Edge Lights, and Interior Barrel Sauna lighting.
Utilize the remote that is mounted on the back interior wall of the Sauna to change the color of the lights.
Turn on The Sauna Heater
Enter through the door to the Sauna, as you have to manually turn on the heater.
The control knob is located on the left side of the Sauna heater. Always use caution as the surface of the heater can be hot.
During the Winter months it is possible for the glass door to become frozen after a session. Please try and leave the door slightly ajar until after the sauna temperature returns to normal outdoor temperatures, this will prevent the moisture from icing up the door.
DO NOT FORCE THE DOOR OPEN IF FROZENIf you are unable to open the Sauna door because it has become frozen, use a hairdryer on a warm setting, moving the heat back and fourth to warm up the frozen section, or use hot water to warm the area and melt the ice. If you use warm water, its important that you do leave the door ajar afterward as it will re-freeze. If non of these option works please contact us for support.
Turn the Knob just after the second “Clunk”
When you find the control knob turn it until you hear 2 “clunk sounds” this will set the Sauna heater to remain powered for 1 hour. Beyond the second clunk allows you to set a timer for the Sauna to begin heating at a future time up to 5 hours in the future. This is useful if you know you will be back to use it at the pre set time. We recommend just turn beyond the second clunk, and setting yourself a timer for 45 minutes later to check on the temperature of the Sauna.

Heat Up Time 45-60 minutes
The Sauna takes approximately 45-60 minutes to heat up. Make sure you dont lose track of time as the heater will only stay on for one hour.
“Add Humidity: Carefully pour a small amount of water over the heated stones to generate steam, which can make the sauna feel hotter. Always use caution to avoid burns from the steam.”
Grab a Towel
Once you are ready to head out to The Sauna, make sure to grab a spa towel from the dresser near the main entrance to The Hideaway.
Enjoy the Sauna
For an optimal sauna experience at The Hideaway, we recommend staying inside the sauna for sessions of 10 to 15 minutes. After each session, take a break to cool down before re-entering, and always listen to your body to avoid overheating. Staying hydrated is crucial, so please drink plenty of water before and after your sauna sessions to maintain hydration levels. Enjoy the warmth and relaxation safely!
Return the Towels
Once you're done, please hang your towels up to dry if you plan t use the spa again, or return the used spa towels to the designated hamper in the downstairs bathroom hall closet to be cleaned after your departure.
