Limitations on the Outdoor Tubs

Seasonal Availability Notice:
The outdoor soaking tubs at The Hideaway are weather-dependent and are typically unavailable from November through April due to regional winter conditions. Freezing temperatures can make operation unsafe and may prevent the tubs from functioning properly.

To help manage this safely, we utilize smart water shutoff valves that automatically control the water supply to the tubs based on outdoor temperatures. The tubs may be turned on or off depending on current weather conditions.

For the tubs to be available for guest use, the forecasted low temperature for the day must remain above 40°F. If temperatures are expected to drop below this threshold, the water supply will remain shut off to protect the plumbing and equipment.

Availability during the colder months cannot be guaranteed and may change quickly with shifting weather patterns.

How to Use the Outdoor Soaking Tubs at The Hideaway

Enjoying the outdoor spa at The Hideaway is a perfect way to unwind. Here’s a simple guide to help you get the most out of your spa experience.

Step 1: Getting Started

  • Ensure that the temperature for the day is above 40 degrees, the tubs automatically shutoff when the temperature is below 40 degrees to prevent freezing damage.

  • Before heading out to the spa, grab a towel. You’ll find the spa towels in the dresser located near the main entrance.

Step 2: Remove the Cover

  • The Outdoor Soaking Tubs are covered to prevent leaves and debris from creating a mess and staining the tub.

  • The cover is comprised of two pieces, and it is recommended that they are removed by two people (one person on each side).

  • Each person should take a side and lift the cover off together, store next to the tubs by the canoe tip or near the towel hooks by the kitchen window.

  • Please store on the side the long way so the wind does not catch them.

Step 3: Start Filling the Tub (one at a time)

  • Use the the built-in faucet to fill the tub with fresh water to the desired level. Make sure that the faucet selector is set to the Tub Faucet or the Wand. (the shower option is not installed).

  • Adjust the temperature by moving the mixture control (also the on/off for the tub).

  • If the water is shut off because the temperature is too low please make sure you push it back in to turn it off. If you have any questions regarding this please send a message.

Step 4: Enjoy Your Soak

  • Now that your tub is set up, step in and relax! Enjoy the warm water or a refreshing cold plunge and the serene surroundings of The Hideaway.

Step 5: Drain the Tub

  • After your soak, please remember to drain the tub. The drain lever is located at the bottom of the tub. Ensure all water is emptied, and leave the tub uncovered to dry.

Step 6: Return the Towels

  • Once you're done, please hang your towels up to dry if you plan t use the spa again, or return the used spa towels to the designated hamper in the downstairs bathroom hall closet to be cleaned after your departure.
