Margarita
The origin of the margarita is a blend of myth and legend, with various stories tracing its creation to the 1930s or 1940s in Mexico. One popular tale credits socialite Margarita Sames, who supposedly crafted the drink at her Acapulco home, while another links the cocktail to a bartender in Tijuana mixing it for actress Marjorie King. Regardless of its true beginnings, the margarita quickly became a beloved classic, thanks to its perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and salty flavors. When transformed into a mocktail using non-alcoholic tequila, the margarita retains its refreshing citrus and lime profile, making it just as enjoyable without alcohol. Its crisp, zesty character is ideal for a thirst-quenching mocktail that still delivers the signature burst of flavor.
2 oz non-alcoholic tequila
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz orange juice (or NA triple sec)
½ oz agave syrup
Salt for rim
Lime wedge for garnish
Rim a glass with salt by running a lime wedge around the edge and dipping it in salt. Shake non-alcoholic tequila, lime juice, orange juice, and agave syrup with ice in a shaker. Strain into a glass filled with ice and garnish with a lime wedge.
